Lindenwood scored four unanswered goals in the third period to beat Lake Superior State 7-4 on Thursday night at Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Missouri, spoiling a two-goal night from Lakers forward Charles Savoie in the regular-season opener. It was the same score as the Lions’ win over the Lakers in Sault Ste. Marie a year ago.

Seed scored on the power play at 11:08 of the second, assisted by Cooper Foster, and Savoie added his second at 13:00, from Nassen and Raoul Boilard, for a 4-1 lead. Lindenwood answered with two goals in the final three minutes of the period, from Chase LaPinta at 17:22 and Ethan Zielke at 18:20, to trail 4-3 after two.

Ty Nash tied it 1:38 into the third, and Brady McIsaac scored the go-ahead goal at 11:58. Caden Brown and Adam Raesler added empty-net goals in the final two minutes.

Goalies: Andrew Oke made 39 saves for Lake Superior State and allowed five goals. Liam Beerman made 29 saves for Lindenwood.
