PWHL Detroit showed off its first uniforms Thursday, unveiling black home and white away jerseys for the expansion club’s inaugural 2026-27 season. Detroit was one of four new teams, along with Hamilton, Las Vegas, and San Jose, to reveal jerseys on the same day.

The home sweater is black with metallic silver accents, a nod to the region’s auto industry and what the team called the industrial, innovative spirit of Metro Detroit. A stripe of white, silver, and red runs along the bottom. The three colors reference the city’s 313 area code, and the red recognizes Detroit’s long run as Hockeytown.

“DETROIT” runs diagonally across the front, following the tradition the league’s first eight teams used in their debut seasons. Ally Financial, the team’s inaugural partner, has the jersey patch, and Bauer makes the uniforms as the PWHL’s official jersey partner.

Forward Hilary Knight said the jersey “feels like Detroit—bold, tough, and built with purpose.”

Still no team name

The club is still playing as PWHL Detroit. The league says the full identities of its four expansion teams, including names and logos, will be revealed before the season begins, with those marks moving onto on-ice uniforms starting in 2027-28. The Hockey News’ Ian Kennedy reported that names were circulated to the teams this week, according to FOX 2 Detroit.

When fans will see them

Detroit opens its first season Dec. 6 at Las Vegas at 8 p.m. ET. The home opener is Dec. 12 against the New York Sirens at noon at Little Caesars Arena, where the black jerseys will make their on-ice debut.

Replica home jerseys, including personalized player versions, go on sale the week before the league’s Dec. 5-6 opening weekend. Name-and-number T-shirts are available now through the PWHL’s U.S. online shop and at Little Caesars Arena. Training camp opens Nov. 18.
