No. 2 Michigan closes its two-game home series with Alaska Anchorage on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. at Yost Ice Arena. The game streams on B1G+ and is Michigan’s annual Block Out Cancer Night.

The Wolverines (3-0-0) routed the Seawolves 10-1 on Friday, scoring three times in the first period and five in the third while outshooting Anchorage 47-22. Alaska Anchorage (0-3-0) has yet to win after opening against defending national champion Denver and dropping Friday’s opener in Ann Arbor.

Players to watch

Jayden Perron scored Friday to stretch his point streak to nine games, and he and Michael Hage are the nation’s co-leading scorers. Cole McKinney and Nick Moldenhauer each had a career-high four points in the opener, with McKinney scoring twice. Freshman Jack Nesbitt scored his first two college goals, and Garrett Schifsky added a shorthanded goal, the eighth of his career.

Jack Ivankovic made 21 saves for his 28th career win. Michigan has not announced Saturday’s starter. The Wolverines scored once on the power play and once shorthanded Friday, and Anchorage did not score with the man advantage.

What’s next

Michigan travels to Denver for two games Oct. 16-17, a rematch of last season’s Frozen Four semifinal, before hosting Western Michigan on Oct. 23.
