Scoring summary
- 1st, 9:20 — MTU: Reid Andresen (Owen Baker, Noah Reinhart). 1-0 Michigan Tech.
- 1st, 15:58 — FSU: Nathan Mackie (Owen Mehlenbacher, Jack Mesic). 1-1.

How it happened
Andresen gave the Huskies the lead with his second goal of the season. Ferris State answered when Mackie finished a backdoor feed, then went ahead on the power play when Pulkkanen jammed home a loose puck at the side of the net. Neither team scored over the final 41 minutes, though not for lack of trying by Michigan Tech, which outshot Ferris State 15-5 in the third period and 31-26 overall.
Owen Bartoszkiewicz made 24 saves for the Huskies. Ferris State went 1-for-2 on the power play, and Michigan Tech went 0-for-3. Huskies coach Bill Muckalt said he liked his team’s last 27 minutes after a slow start, adding, “We lost the special teams’ game, and pucks weren’t going in for us.”
What’s next
Michigan Tech has next weekend off, then opens its CCHA home schedule against Augustana on Nov. 6-7 at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena in Houghton.
