Samuel Doyon-Cataquiz made 29 saves for a shutout, and the Muskegon Lumberjacks beat the Lincoln Stars 4-0 on Saturday night in Lincoln, Neb., a night after Lincoln blanked Muskegon 3-0. The Lumberjacks improved to 5-5-0-2 with 12 points in the USHL’s Eastern Conference.
How it happened
Anthony Thomas-Maroon gave Muskegon the lead at 18:24 of the first period, and Doyon-Cataquiz protected that one-goal margin through a scoreless second and most of the third. Drew Fox doubled the lead at 16:50 of the third, and once Lincoln pulled its goalie for an extra attacker, Rudolfs Berzkalns (17:42) and Aiden Janz (18:30) added late goals.
The shutout came a night after Oscar Westman started in goal for Muskegon in Friday’s loss, giving the Lumberjacks a look at both of their goaltenders on the trip.

Muskegon visits the U.S. National Team Development Program in Plymouth on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 6 p.m.
