The Detroit Red Wings asked Dylan Larkin’s representatives to add teams to his list of approved trade destinations, and Larkin’s side declined, NHL insider Pierre LeBrun reported Tuesday on RDS’s Aux 4 coins de la LNH. The report is unconfirmed; neither the Red Wings nor Larkin’s agents have commented publicly, and the team has not announced any change to Larkin’s status.

According to the report, interim general manager Shawn Horcoff contacted agents Pat Brisson and Matt Williams to ask whether Larkin would open his list beyond its current 10 teams, after struggling to find a deal he liked with those clubs. Brisson’s answer, as LeBrun relayed it, was that Detroit already has 10 acceptable teams to work with.

LeBrun also said Montreal, Buffalo, Boston, and Los Angeles have expressed interest in Larkin. Larkin holds a full no-trade clause, so he would have to approve a move to any team that isn’t on his list. Earlier reporting from Elliotte Friedman suggested the list could change slightly but was expected to stay at 10 teams.

The list has already grown twice, from three teams to six and then to 10. Minnesota has made multiple offers, according to earlier reports, but the Red Wings have been pushing for players who can help right away rather than futures. Larkin’s agent said last week that he will not play for Detroit until he is traded, and Detroit Sports Nation and other outlets have reported that he is suspended without pay.

If the report is accurate, it leaves Horcoff working with the same set of buyers he has had for the past week. The Red Wings host the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday at Little Caesars Arena.
