Suspended Red Wings center Dylan Larkin could add or remove teams from his 10-team approved trade list within the next 24 to 48 hours, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman said Saturday night on a Sportsnet broadcast segment, as relayed by Detroit Sports Nation. The report is unconfirmed: no revised list has been made public, and the Red Wings have not announced any change or any trade.
Friedman did not say which teams might come on or off. Detroit Sports Nation, citing Sportsnet, listed the current 10 as Florida, Minnesota, Vegas, Dallas, Washington, Carolina, Utah, Tampa Bay, New Jersey, and Colorado, and said Friedman views Colorado, Florida, and Vegas as very unlikely landing spots. A change to the list would be the first sign of movement since the standoff escalated last week.
Where things stand
The Red Wings suspended Larkin without pay on Oct. 29 after his agent said he would not play again until he is traded. Interim general manager Shawn Horcoff said the next day that Detroit will wait as long as necessary for the right deal.
Minnesota has been the most persistent suitor. The Athletic’s Pierre LeBrun reported Friday that the Wild have made multiple offers, while Detroit has held out for NHL-ready help. Montreal and Buffalo have also been linked to Larkin in recent reports, though neither is on his current list.
Larkin, 30, is signed through 2030-31 with an $8.7 million cap hit. The Red Wings went 1-1-0 in their first two games without him, beating Chicago 4-1 on Thursday and falling 5-4 to St. Louis on Saturday. They visit Florida, a team on Larkin’s list, on Monday.
