PWHL Detroit’s first trip to Toronto will come on one of the league’s biggest stages. The Toronto Sceptres announced Wednesday that they will host Detroit at Scotiabank Arena on Sunday, Jan. 17, at 3:30 p.m. ET in the fourth annual Battle on Bay Street.
The game is the only meeting between the two teams in Toronto during the 2026-27 regular season. Instead of the Sceptres’ usual home rink, it moves into the downtown arena shared by the Maple Leafs and Raptors, which has hosted some of the PWHL’s largest crowds since the league began.
Presale tickets go on sale Thursday, Nov. 5, through Ticketmaster, and the general sale opens Thursday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m. ET.
The date carries a homecoming angle for Detroit forward Jesse Compher, who played for the Sceptres before signing with the expansion club in June. Compher is one of four PWHL Detroit players named to the U.S. roster for the IIHF Women’s World Championship, which opens Nov. 6.
Detroit’s inaugural season is drawing closer. PWHL training camps open Nov. 18, and Detroit plays its first home game Dec. 12 against the New York Sirens at Little Caesars Arena. The team announced its full 2026-27 schedule in early October.
