The St. Louis Blues scored three times in the final 11:23, including two goals 18 seconds apart, to beat the Red Wings 5-4 on Saturday afternoon at Little Caesars Arena. Detroit led 4-2 early in the third period before Pavel Buchnevich, Justin Barron, and Aleksanteri Kaskimaki turned the Halloween matinee around.

Detroit outshot St. Louis 28-15 but fell to 6-5-3, ending a three-game home winning streak in its second game since suspending Dylan Larkin. John Gibson made 10 saves on 15 shots; Joel Hofer stopped 24 of 28 for St. Louis.

How it happened

Dalibor Dvorsky opened the scoring 2:29 in, finishing a cross-crease feed from Barron and Dylan Holloway. JT Compher answered at 8:13, pouncing after Hofer lost track of a Nate Danielson dump-in behind his net, with Michael Rasmussen assisting.

Keegan Kolesar put Detroit ahead 41 seconds into the second on a breakaway, his first goal and first point as a Red Wing, set up by Carter Mazur and Justin Faulk. Lucas Raymond made it 3-1 at 13:14 with an unassisted solo rush and a wrist shot past Hofer, his fifth goal in six games after a scoreless first eight. Jimmy Snuggerud pulled St. Louis within one with 28 seconds left in the period.

Emmitt Finnie restored the two-goal cushion on the power play at 3:29 of the third, his sixth of the season, from Raymond and Moritz Seider. Buchnevich cut it to 4-3 at 8:37, Barron tied it at 12:57, and Kaskimaki scored the winner at 13:15, with former Red Wing Pius Suter picking up an assist. Another former Wing, Jonatan Berggren, played on the Blues’ second line.

Detroit Hockey Now noted the Red Wings are 7-12-3 in their last 22 games at Little Caesars Arena.
